Hello everyone! I have a question concerning my new EX35. I have not picked it up yet, waiting for it to arrive at the dealer. They are going to try and sell me a exterior gel wax sealer that claims to last five years before the car needs to be waxed. They also have a interior treatment for the leather. I believe the product is made by Simonize. Does anyone have experience with this treatment and do you think it would be necassary with the self healing paint. Not sure of the cost yet, I am sure it will be a couple of hundred dollars at least. I am getting the black exterior and black interior. I have a black 2005 G35X that I am trading, it has been difficult to keep clean and free of scratches. Can't wait to see how this "self healing" paint works or if it is just a marketing tool. Any info or advice? luvex35..........

Thanks for the reply steelerjoe. I have read a lot about this product today on-line. It is in fact Simoniz System 5 with Teflon. Most of what I have read states that it is a rip-off. That any coating claiming to last five years is bogus. It requires high heat to bake it on to the finish. Most dealers purchase the kit for $25.00 and can do two cars. They charge upwards of $500.00 for the process. It takes less than and hour to apply and is appied like any wax. I will let you know how I like the car. I have had a good experience with my G35x up to his point.

Well I got my new EX35 yesterday....LOVE IT!!!! It is awesome. I ended up having the dealer apply the Simoniz System 5. They asked $499.99 for it, interior & exterior treatment. I told them I would do it for $300.00.......they did. It looks really good. They told me that they would order another kit, comes with car wash, wax and mail it to me so I can re-apply in the future. All in all, I think I got a good deal on it. I checked with detailers, they charge around $300.00 for a full interior/exterior detail and it is only good for 6 months (Collinite). I did talk to one of the managers about their scratch shield paint. It has been used by Infiniti in Japan for two years now, with great results. Especially on dark colors. They did a test on a car by steel wooling half of it, scratching it really bad, lots of fine scratches. They left it out in the sun and two days later you could not tell which side had been steel wooled. Pretty amazing....if it's true. The great thing is, it is not a pricey option, all of the EX's have the special paint. The 9.3 gig music box is awesome. When you put a CD in, set the music box to auto record, and after it plays two songs, the entire CD is recorded to the hard drive. You can go back and delete any songs you don't want. Take out the CD and you no longer need it in the car! That's all for now, I will keep posting as time goes on and let you know how it is going. LuvEX35.....
