Gigi, not that I am aware of. Typical CD will be copied after second or third song. Depends on size and length of album. If you have a 20-30 song greatest hits album. It may take 10 songs to complete the copy. I spent many hours in my EX in the garage after I got, I have copied 47 CD's at this point. Good luck

More to add on recording from CD to hard drive Music Box ...

According to the manual p4-58, "The system starts recording the track being played and 'REC CD' appears on the screen." I just tried this out and correction ... recording does NOT start at the current track as suggested.

While I was listening to track 2 of a CD, I pressed "REC" and it reverted to the first track to start recording.

I reached my destination while it was still recording, so I pressed "STOP", turned off the radio and the car. When I got back in for the return trip, I turned on the radio and pressed "REC" again, and recording resumed as if nothing happened. The entire CD rip completed successfully.

I reconfirmed that while ripping, you need not listen to the CD. Simply switch to radio or any other music source. If you look carefully, you will see "REC CD" shown somewhere on your display, though exactly where depends upon the display mode.

Helo

I am using 8Gig card successfully but the system is limited by the 255 folders. therefore there is no benefit from using bigger card.

Thanks for the confirmation, EXDriver!

Yes with a limit of not only 255 folders, but 512 maximum files total, a 2GB card is the largest I'll get (since my MP3s are mostly encoded at 128 kbps).
