Cruise Control Cuts Out

This may not be the correct forum, but cruise seems to be more elctrical than mechanical. I just tried ti use my cruise while it was raining and it wouldn't engage. After some playing around, I discoverd that it worked fine if the windshield wipers were off, but once I turned them on, the cruise would cut out within 6 or 8 "swipes". Has anyone else experienced this? Does it relate to the adaptive feature?

Cancel that - I decided to read the manual and discovered that, for some reason, Infiniti has decided that intelligent cruise won't work with the wipers on. Go figure.

Exclamation

Yes, odd, but true ... I found this in 2 places in the manual a) p.5-26, middle column, 3rd item, 2nd paragraph, and b) p.5-37, middle column, 3rd bullet. Wipers can be on "intermittent" mode, but not on Lo or Hi.

I can only guess that this is done to prevent automatic braking on wet roads from causing a problem like skidding ... more Big Brother, wouldn't want owners to sue Infiniti , stuff.

BTW, when you turn on cruise control, the default is ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control). To activate Conventional Cruise Control you must press and hold the "CRUISE ON/OFF" button for more than 1.5 secs (see p.5-41).

Yes - I noticed that. Thanks

Maybe before I die I'll actually read the whole manual.
